Carollia common early with Sternura, Artiles began showing up about 1hr. after sunset. Other species taken 8:30-9:30. In all, got: 1 Aroua, 6 Sternura, (A.tollecus, 13 A.jamaicensis, 14 Carollia brevicauda, 1 Pt. pamellii. Drove to Cordoba for the night but drove around some before finding a Motel on the Veracruz side of town (Motel Buenavista). A very nice room for $150. While getting a receipt the boy in the office, who spoke fair English, asked for the words to "If yo go to San Francisco". After three times thru, I got them for him. Drove back into town & had a nice dinner of Pollo de las Parmesana, at a cafe on the zocalo ($45). Then back to the motel. I dried 4 Desmodus for Coatepan but could not get more than 2 drops of plasma from 0.5ml of blood for each. Finally took muscle samples & pickled the lots. This was 2nd showered & to bed, very tired, at 2:30. 10 Sept. Cordoba, Ver. to Matias Romero, Oax. Up at the ungodly hour of 6:30, finally getting out of bed by 7. On the road by 7:30.
