9 Dec
Mexico City to Cordoba, Var.
Up by 7:20 AM to face the Mexico City rush hours
by 7:30. The road to VIPs passes a major bus
depot and between scurrying people and mindless
merging buses, it was quite a way to wake up.
Breakfast at VIPs - $36 + $1.80 tax - of an omelet w/
potatoes, onions & bacon. Then drove to get LN2.
The place is INFRA, 11c San Francisco Cuatlalpan St.
in
, just N of the Distrito
Federal off of 57, on Mex Rt. 130 & off of this. Got
lost twice - once because the connection between
Vraducto & Periferico was closed, a second time

done by 10:30. Was somewhat curious to do
business in a language I don't really understand,

to Puebla. On the way, we were shunted off
onto a side street w/ everyone else as a motorcade
of many gun toting men and three ominous buses went
zooming past with helicopter escort. Reached Puebla
by noon, Oregaba by 2 PM. This was the 1st time
I have been over the pass to Oregaba in the
day and the transition from high plateau
