Travely, D.O. 96. 1977 Berkeley to Los Angeles 7 Dec. Left UWB at noon for 2 PM flight to LA to meet Sam Sweet. Plane late taking off and arrived at 3:15. Luggage late and succeeded in missing the 4:10 flight to Mexico City. An hour is far too short to switch here. A cabbie took us to the Sun Bay Motel in Culver City - a cheap place at $18 (!?). Duer at Shakee's Pizza at $10 then got settled - to bed about 1:30. 8 Dec Los Angeles to Mexico City Up at 8 AM and packed, cab picked us up & took us to the Airport for $7. We got on flight 901 at 12:35 direct to Mexico & had breakfast for $2.21/each. Flight uneventful, arrived around 5:30 local time. Got a VW lim Avisa then went to reconfirm return reservations on the 22nd! Somehow they had been cancelled! Got on another flight that has one stop in Guadalajara, all reconfirmed. Then cashed $300 m traveler's checks for $6792 (~22.9 :$1). Drone then to Hotel Aguascalientes on Zaragoza Blvd. right where the Viaducts connects. Got a room w/ one bed for $200 - w/ 2 beds would have been an outrageous $400. Dinner at VIP's just up Zaragoza - Hamburgers y papas fritas w/ 2 cokes for $46.50
