D.O.Straney 1977 28. 29 Aug. contd. downpour as we set up the nets but this cleared unfortunately as the moon was full. Very little seen flying. Caught 1 Pt. panellii just before sunset, then 1 Glossoplaza soricina, 1 A. cinereus and 3 Carolia (released). Took the nets down at 10:30 pm much disappointed & home to bed. 30 Aug. Simla Up reasonably early & processed last net's catch. Around 11 left for Port-of-Spain to do administrative closures. First to San Juan for dry ice but "No way". Were going to try to do laundry here, but was already 1 pm so on to POS & Pan Am office - after this we were told to go to BWIA office for Venezuelan Transit cards, etc. Did this, while the girls brought boxed lunches, then sent Dave a cable & ate lunch on the steps of the cable office. By now 4 pm. Drove out long circular Drive to the Forestry Permit Office but it closed at 4. So back into POS & grocery shopping, arriving home at 6:30 very frustrated. Relaxed this PM & slept ~11. 31 Aug. Simla Today is Trinidad Independence Day. Up lateish & relaxed until 4 when left for Tamarana Cave. As usual Jacks directions were excellent, but I was never sure of the way until we got to the trail to the cave,
