D.O. Shaney 1977 80. Aug (cont'd.) in several places finding ants & leptodactylids. Then back to toron & got a motel room at a cheepone then dinner at a hamburger joint. Rd drove Rt 16 getting only leptodactylids along the road, until 11:30 then track & to bed. 2 Aug. Tapachula, Chis. to Guatemala City, Guat. up rather late while John processed specimens and then breakfast. Headed out to Talamancan Bridge & the border, reaching same about 11. No nastles but it costs some to get into Guatemala. miscure fees Then proceeded down CA2 to Escuintla following the rolling hills at the wedge of the Pacific coastal plain. Lunch at Escuintla and then up CA9 to Guatemala City thru some fine mountains. Finally found a motel-wharehouse where we got a room (only!) and went through our specimens before retiring about 10:30. 3 Aug. Guatemala City Vicinity up by 8:30 & packed car. Drove to Zone 1 & had breakfast "downtown". Then went next door to Pan Am & bought my ticket home for tomorrow. then down to
