D.D.Stanley 1977 77. 8 July, cont'd for late lunch slightly before 2. the rd fm Villahermosa passes thru a broad plain now in grass for cattle with only scattered bits of forest. Want out to recuo in very wee forest & spent ~ 2 1/2 hrs there. Then got a campsite at Hotel Nakatan on Ocosingo rd and had dinner. Rd drove up to recuo & up Ocosingo rd but nothing due to moon. Back for quick swim & to bed by 10 pm. 29 July Palenque, Chiis. vicinity up at 8 for breakfast at restaurant up the rd from Hotel. Then drove out Ocosingo rd, after trying to cash check in town (electricity out - try later). Want to Cascada Mizola 12.5 mi N of Palenque on the Ocosingo rd. Looked around here some & John found a cave w/ bats. Net over entrance & scared them out, losing one in the process. Look to be Peroeryx. I processed while John looked more. Returned to town ~ 3 pm but bank closed. Back out Ocosingo rd to another area w/ wee forest & John looked here till dusk finding tadpoles. Then dinner at Hotel, rd driving same rds w/ same results & camping by 10 pm.
