O. Straney 1977 26 July, contd. Then saw L. Bojij. Then back to end of paved rd & 1/4 mi beyond & parked. Walked down hill towards river to caves. Many caves here w/lrg rooms but also many people (candles lit throughout). No bats. Drove out Lagunas dirt rd a ways finding a coke at T3rsc0 (?) then returned to Comitán by 7:30 pm for room in H. Internacional. John road drove to Lagunass (finding snails only in caves) & down E towards border (finding frogs). To lunch ~12:30. 27 July Comitán, Chis. to Palenque, Chis. Up at 8 for breakfast then drove W to 1st gas, then processed John's frogs. Drove on W reaching 195 by noon w/lunch of PB&J on Rio Caja. Continued on 195 dropping into lowlands finally reaching by 6 1/2. Room & dinner at H. La Selva, the only place in town. John road drove but got nothing. The moon is nearly full. 28 July Palenque, Chis. to Palenque, Chis Up at 8 for breakfast then on down 195 to Villahermosa where we had a tire fixed that went flat yesterday PM. Left at noon driving out 186 to Palenque. Arrived here
