Still raining, then [illegible] to pull off & field note until dark - it [illegible] stopped raining. Back to Machin for dinner in the kitchen of the eatery watching the senora prepare the meal on a raised table fireplace. Cold. Decided not to set nets. Walked the rockface on E side of rd ~100 yds S of summit of Cerro Pelon w/ John finding 2 lg lizards, "lumpy" sitting on a rockface. they must use the cracks in the rock during the day. This till ~9:15. Then N 1 mile & John walked the rockface on W side of road finding nothing but the rain which had started again - this till 10:30. Then down to chapel 30.5 mi S Valla National for the night. 15 July Machin, Day. Vicinity up at the unbelievable hour of 10'". Drove up to Machin for breakfast. Then S for gas. Arrived ~12:15 but gas station not open yet, so went away down rd. to process John's animals. The S side of Cerro Pelon
