D.O. Straney 1977 64. 13 July cont'd. Then back up rd 1.6 mi S Vista Hermosa where a well-kept trail led back to a small cemetery ma clearing. Set nets along the trail (one) & along the S edge of the clearing (one). Began setting ~ 7:15 when 2nd one up it began to rain & just then got a small Myotis. Rained steadily so went up John to check rockfaces. At the done pulloff we searched in mild rain, John finding a potentially rare snake here climbing on the rockface! Then rechecked nets at 8 - nothing. Went up to La Esperanza & John checked another rockface in driving, windy rain - nothing. Then drove for a while & back to nets ~ 10:15 - nothing so took them down. Back to pulloff & set up tent & to bed. 14 July Vista Hermosa, Oax. to Machin, Oax. Up ~ 8am & hung out clothes to dry.
