Open and grassy - sage, pines, bushes & rocks.
40 traps.
Then drove back to Borel Rd., the old route
up from Bakersfield and looked at Hobo campground.
This is near one of Grunell's californicus localities.
Set in canyons as follows:
0.8 mi E Miracle Hot Springs, Kern Co.
a grazed area, oaks, buckey, much grass & rocks
John got 1 Dicidophus under a rock.

1.4 mi W Miracle Hot Springs, Kern Co.
not as open as the last, monster, fewer rocks.
not recently grazed.
