Straney 1977 41. 28 March follows: Fairview campground, 17 mi N Kernville on "Wtu 99", Tulare Co ~3600' Cutover area not used in winter, rocks, oaks, scrub. 40 traps Chemise Flat, 15.3 mi N Kernville on "Wtu 99" Tulare Co. ~3500' Chemise sage, oaks - sandy substrate 120 traps - Saw 1 Wtu while setting Hospital Flat, 6.9 mi N Kernville on "Wtu 99", Tulare Co. ~3200' Open and grassy - sage, pines, bushes & rocks. 40 traps. Then drove back to Borel Rd., the old route up from Bakersfield and looked at Hobo campground. This is near one of Grunell's californicus localities. Set in canyons as follows: 0.8 mi E Miracle Hot Springs, Kern Co. a grazed area, oaks, buckey, much grass & rocks John got 1 Dicidophus under a rock. # traps 20/9, 27 small traps. 1.4 mi W Miracle Hot Springs, Kern Co. not as open as the last, monster, fewer rocks. not recently grazed. 40 traps 3.4 mi W Miracle Hot Springs, Kern Co. similar to last site - more open - 30 small traps.
