Saw a Sciurus griseus on rd as we drove to Harrays Seer overlook Nothing in my traps total of 40 traps: 3 P. californicus 1 P. truei 1 P. eremicus ? 1 Neotoma The chaparral is rather sparse here. Then on to: Setzer Plantation the best chaparral of all of my 40 along the exposed trail - 3 P. californicus of the 100 traps: 7 P. californicus 1 P. truei 3 P. eremicus 6 Perognathus californicus 4 Neotoma 1 Brown towhee. Also 1 Uta in a natural pitfall trap. Done by 11 am then lunch at Setzer Rantation, feeling rather pleased with our success: 40 mice/190 traps ~ 20% success - and of these, a full 16 P. californicus from the western San Gabriels.
