Saw a Sciurus griseus on rd as we drove to
Harrays Seer overlook
Nothing in my traps
total of 40 traps: 3 P. californicus
1 P. truei
1 P. eremicus ?
1 Neotoma
The chaparral is rather sparse here.
Then on to:
Setzer Plantation
the best chaparral of all
of my 40 along the exposed trail - 3 P. californicus
of the 100 traps:
7 P. californicus
1 P. truei
3 P. eremicus
6 Perognathus californicus
4 Neotoma
1 Brown towhee.
Also 1 Uta in a natural pitfall trap.
Done by 11 am then lunch at Setzer Rantation,
feeling rather pleased with our success:
40 mice/190 traps ~ 20% success - and of
these, a full 16 P. californicus from
the western San Gabriels.
