D.O. Straney 1976 30. 24 Nov (cont) area is a small knol: Rt. 2 path. We put 40 traps in here. Then on up the Rd. to the next good chaparral (that wasn't too steep) at Short Cut Saddle. I set 20 down the Strait, Peg and John 29 along the North trail. This all by 5:15 P.M. Then went down to Canada for gas & dinner. Futzied along for a while, then came back up Rt 2 to Chilao Campground for dinner and luel. Saw 1 grey fox in hills above Pasadena, 1 wounded deer and 1 Peregrine? along Rt. 2 on way back. To bed by ~10:30 P.M. 25 Nov. up ~6:30, A cold morning. Checked traps and got: Short Cut Saddle: of my 20: 2 P. truei 2 P. Californicus 1 P. eremius? set in steep chaparral grading to oaks. much manzanita Total of 49 traps 6 P. Californicus (+1 dead) 5 P. Truei (+1 dead) 2 P. eremius (+1 dead)
