D.O. Strange 1976 28. 16 Sept. Up at 8 AM, we limped back to Las Vegas to have the car fixed. All it was was a loose carburetor wheel, $5- fixed. Breakfast and on the road by 10:30 AM. An uneventful trip home this we saw a coyote at 1:30 PM w/10 mi S of Tonopha wandering on the side of the road (side?). Back at MVZ at 12:30 PM, very glad to be back. Berkeley to San Gabriel mts, L.A. Co., Calif. 24 Nov. Left Berkeley at 5:45 AM w/ John Cadle and Peg Smith, to collect Peromyscus californicus. Buttonwillow track stops for lunch at 10:15 and L.A. City limit at 1 PM. Took Foothill Blvd. to Sunland, then Mt Gleenon Rd. to Big Tujunga Canyon, looking for good chaparral. Finally found some along Rt.2= Angeles Crest Hwy and set 100 lg folding Sherman's from Switzer Plantation along the Nature's Caution Nature trail. I set 40 along the trail, John 30 belows and Peg 30 above. Then went a few miles up the rd. to a lookout over Arroyo Secos with a sign talking about the dams. This
