J.O. Straney 1976 25. 15 Sept. Up at 7:30 AM to beautiful surroundings. To Moapa for gas and breakfast. Stopped to see Mike to make arrangements for this evening. Then back to Red Rock Canyon to process lots. This time went up to Willow Spring which is in the N.W. part of the valley. This is an old Indian campground (Pinto and Anasazi) with mescal pits and pictographs still evident. Pinon pine habitat. Processed our lots in this pleasant area and then attempted to set up some nets to leave there while we went elsewhere. We could not find a good set and, as time, wind, birds and tourists were against us we abandoned this plan and drove back to meet Mike. Mike took us to Grapevine Spring in Kyle Canyon of the Spring Mts: Las Vegas US-95 ~10 mi Kyle Canyon Turnoff (SR-39) 9 mi small canyon hill 2-3 mi spring dead ends at spring
