Dinner in Tonopah, and we pulled off to sleep along the Amargosa River bed in creosote desert. Lay under the stars talking for awhile. Finally to sleep by 11 P.M. 14 Sept. Up at 8 AM to a fine cool morning. Temper- atures yesterday were very cool but today threatens to be a searcher. Not much sleep last nite as I threw my back out in Berkeley loading the car and the ground was not too good for it. In Las Vegas by 10 AM for Breakfast at McDonalds, then over to the place Mike is working to make plans. He is working at a two place and seems much frustrated by it. After much futzing around we have decided on a plan - Tadarida tonito and another place tomorrow. Spent the afternoon (1-3:30 PM) in Red Rock Canyon W of town on Choreldor St. collecting herps. Sam got many. Also found a dead grey fox. Some of the cracks and crannies in this red sandstone showed what looked like very
