D. O. Strange 1976 21. 26 Aug (Cont'd) leaving - young and reportedly members of Moon's Church which now owns the property. They were a little amazed that we would be interested in bats and were unaware that they had a roost in the barn, although they had seen many flying in the vicinity. Also wanted to know if bats had commercial value. We told them about the beneficial effects of guano in hopes that they would not discourage the roost. On the way home, Carla's car had problems and we spent 2hrs. in the A&W parking lot in St. Helena fixing her headlight switch. Finally in Berkeley by 11:30 pm. Las Vegas Vicinity, Clark Co., Nevada 13 Sept Left Berkeley this AM (8:30; 37315) for Las Vegas with Sam Sweet and Carla Markman. We will meet M. J. O'Farrell who knows some good bat localities in the area. Driving by way of Reno which we got to at 12 noon. Stopped at a marsh N of Fallon on US 95 where Sam & Carla collected Lama Pipiens - these are different from those of New England, having redescent (3) spots on the back and
