similar ratios. Tadarida in small numbers mixed in, behind the roof beams - we could only get 2 but others were there. Bats at last! Unfortunately I got stung by a wasp in the process and my stomach is swelling in reaction - didn't think I was allergic. Also hit by a Myotis that drew a drop of blood- must watch this.

Arrived at Savannah River Ecology Lab yesterday at 4 PM, after a pleasant drive from Tifton, Ga. where we prepared the specimens. SREL is devastated by a tragedy which occurred on the 4th, resulting in the death of Sue Duwall and Lee Ames, the latter an old friend. Otherwise the place is little changed, although there are many new people.
Went out tonight with J.B. Gentry to Jackson Landing, the "port" of Jackson on the Savannah River. He, I and M.J. O'Farrell had shot L. seminolis here in good numbers (5-10) a year or so earlier. Bats flying ~ 1/2 hr before sunset when J.B. shot the 1st and only bat we got; the ~5 others were seen
