1986 Walter D Koenig Melanerpes formicivorus Blomone (9 June) ♂1087. The bird apparently was incubating here, and was the one who let #812 in to toss. God knows what he's doing here; I certainly don't. He's a 1st yr bird from School Hill, and thus does have a tenuous relation here (8492 is from 1500, 1500 birds are related to School Hill). In any case, pending further watching, we add him here as of 1 May (he wasn't here on 15 April when I removed the ♀, he is there now as of 30 May). 1920. Checked the probable new hole: empty. Sue, by the way, watched here yesterday morning and saw rien (8 June); no one watched this morning. 12 June 930. 3 fresh eggs (marked 1-3) in The new hole! Assuming Philip checked the hole on 10 June, this at least means both ♀♀ are laying, but I'll have to check for sure. 13 June 515. 4 eggs in hole; 4th marked. Philip did not check the hole on 10 June, so I am clueless thus far as to who or how many ♀♀ are laying. Now watching. 600. Over in the granary are 2 ♀♀ and ? B/LP #832(?) (I thought I had a reasonable look but there are others close to this) 608. I think that is him: ♂ DG-DB/M (?1M) #832 in granary (not certain but looking likely). (2) ♀m /wn #809 here. 615. ♂? or/B/LP#492. 645. I now think that the bird I thought was ♂832 above is really ♂ or-DB/M #1087 instead. Those 2 are disturbingly close. 650. Here she is: ♀? DB / -LP #812. No marks left on her forehead.
