1986 Walter D Koenig Melanerpes formicivorus Hay-Blen HNHR: (8 June) here on 19 April, does in fact now live here and is feeding babies. We don't know who he is or where he comes from, but it seems unlikely that he's a baby from a fall nest (Katy never saw babies here). So, we have to presume that he is an unrelated bird who just joined the group, and is presumably now a breeder.
