1988 Walter D Koenig Melanerpes formicivorus Laguna Concejo HNHR 30 January Just decided that there's a new group here in proximity to Blomone, based on the 25-26 Jan. ambush (see Blomone notes). This group consists of B1063 and 2 ♀♀ (now 1457 and 1458), and I presume it formed during The 24 Sept. 1987 power struggle (maybe this caused the cower struggle?). 25 April 9:30. 2 birds up at Far Knoll (along with a Lewis Woodpecker!) flew back to Blomone when flushed. Does this mean this group is defunct? No nest found yet... and it sounded as though the birds were greeted when they arrived... 24 May Mark found the nest here-they moved over by the road and have it in the Blue Oak, very close to Blomone's nest and gravany.
