16 January *Group Update*
♀1329 is back! Seen here beginning on 11.15.87 (Gonnie).
Apparently not there 17 Sept (MTS), although Cindy saw
this bird visiting here on 29 March '87 and we had
few census in between, so she may have been here earlier.
→ Returned 16 Oct ± 1 month.
6 April 900. Checked the main hole: empty. No sign of birds in
any other holes either.
7 April 710. Watching hole from blind. None inside.
730. Someone is giving an occasional Garnick from the 2° granary.
740. ♂ Yel-Gm #297 now karit-ing in 2° granary.
744. Now he's Garnicking softly. Why?
748. Still (gently) garnicking; he even drilled briefly once!
752. ♂ M / ♀1329.
756. ♂ just flew to other side of road. Going to check; nothing
happening here.
800. Found it! It's right above the road, in a very rotten
limb.
1030. Climbed to the hole, which is about 2' deep. I cut
the entire top off to see what was in it: nothing yet.
But what a hole! It's tempting to knock the whole thing down.
