1988 Walter D Koenig Melanerpes formicivorus Pump HNHR 16 January *Group update* Birds have been here since at least 29 Sept (MTS). I'll have the group founded on 0 Sept. ± 1 month. There are at least 3 birds, 286 and 17, all unbanded, and very possibly a 2nd ub ♀ also. 12 March *Group Update* 55289. Now appears that only a pair remains here. This bird last seen 6 Feb., gone by 23 Feb. → DA 15 Feb ± 1 wk. 13 June No evidence of birds here for some time (since late April anyway). Probably defunct. 23 July Birds here abandoned ~1 April ± 2 wks. No sign of a group here now.
