27 March Delete ♀1325, who appears to have dispersed to Blomone
as of mid-March.
28 April! 1530. Hole checked. No eggs.
1 May 1400. 2 eggs! Marked #1 & 2.
5 May Watched roosting this evening: 8774 spent the night in
the nest.
6 May 1215. Got 8770! Whoopee! Also caught ♀193, who
I released right away virtually into the talons of a
Cooper's hawk who homed in on her screams. I hope
she's OK—she's now sitting on a branch low in the
tree recovering.
1300. 8770 is pretty freaked out—he's now in the aviary,
and I hope he's OK!
8 May 900. Bird in hole, incubating. Checked hole: 6 eggs (Mark had
found a 3rd on 2 May). I was a runt, which I kept.
