1986 Welter.D. Koenig Melanerpes fomicivorus Warp 5 HNH 15 April *9998 at a power struggle at Blomone this morning', see Blomone notes. 16 May 900. Noone up here or in any holes. Also, they appear to be plum out of stores! Maybe that's why we can't find a nest here. 24 May looked here and sat around for a ½ hr or so. Not much activity, but there was some. An ub♂ came and pected around in the main trees for several minutes, eventually getting chased off by a banded ♂. The latter stayed for a couple of minutes and then flew down toward the road. This does make me wonder about the relationship between Warp 5 and the new Road groups. We don't know of any (all the road birds were unbanded originally) but who is hanging out up here? I certainly have little sense of there being a nest here. 9 June *Group Update* j1151, 1152 - X5AB. also j999 → Last seen 10 July, gone by 11 March → DA 10 Nov ±4 months. 18 September watched up here this evening, seeing no sign of birds or stores. I don't even think there's a group here. (Was there one this spring? Could have fooled me.)
