in the pines for their
nests when I thought
I saw a small dark spot
among the needles in a
5 foot pine. The tree
stood in a clearing, a
little ways off from the
border. Next to it grew
a black oak and at its
base a few small cedars.
I threw a stick at
the tree but no bird
flew so I climbed the
tree. When I got well
up I could see the
spot was a small
nest. Upon getting to
it I saw 5 or 6 eggs and
the red cedar lining.
