Talcaquie', February a 1831, rara. The collector was F. Calatrigue or something like that. Stems 2-4 dm. high, stiff, glabrous; very similar to Menonvillea linearis except but for the extra wing over the seed on each side. However this is present on some specimens of m. linearis as for example Chili, Bartero. H. littoralis - Type - Prov. de Coquimbo, Chili; MCL Day 63; 1839; fleura blanches; dans les tables du cord. de la mar.
