pedicels terete, glabrous, divaricate, 1 cm.-
long; siliques little notched at apex, glabrous
montana
= alpina group. Glabrous throughout except for
young infl. incl. sepal while or very sparsely pub.
sep.* montanum plains of the W. Mts. to
Walla Walla.
Stems branched 1.5-2 dm. high, densely pub.
with minute simple or branched trichomes; basal his
petioles, 3-6 cm. long, primitively lobed, the lobe
cm. 4-6 mm. long + 2-3 mm. wide; upper cauline less
entire, lower transitional to basal; infl. congested,
suprast. 2-4 cm. long, rachis minutely pub.;
pedicels at right angles, slightly curved, 4-6 mm. long,
pub., siliques ovate to nearly orbicular, ca. 2 mm.
long, glabrous except the very young; style exceeding indistinct
sinus.
