1984 1985 Walter D. Koenig Melanerpes formicivorus Keep Out HNHR 1 November 840. Watching from hide. There are new acorns in the granary, so there are certainly birds here. 841. ? m / ca? ? Not ?900, last listed for here. 930. ? rei? / wr? Banded, anyway. ① ? m / red (B1k looks pretty much like ?706. 1010. 2nd bird: ? LB / yell → looks very much like 9739 from SOBO. Yes: ? m / LB: rei? 1020. Leaving. I wouldn't swear there's not a 3rd bird here, but my guess is there are only these 2: ?706 & ?739. The 2 helpers are most likely gone. (?899 & ?900). *Group Update* Add ?739; last seen at SOBO 15 April, will sort of arbitrarily be sent to Keep Out on 1 July (as far as I can tell, nobody watched either of these groups much last spring). But! Lets add her after the loss of ?900 seen ?899. Last seen 1 March (by whom?). Disappeared by 1 Nov → DA. 1 July ± 4 months ?900. Last seen 8 June (by whom?) Gone, we'll say, ~1 July. Timing is pretty arbitrary here; nobody paid much attention to this group, apparently. 1985 12 February 1115. Counted stores: 617. Pretty good for this group. 7 April 1000. ? in hole in Live Oak. Could be the 1st nest of the year! 13 April 1530. ? in hole, along with 5 eggs (numbered 1-5 in probable laying sequence as determined by dirt on eggs),
