xxGroup Update xx
♂627, ♀6[5185] returned to Gate 20 April 1985.
I still have very little idea what these birds were
doing all winter, but for simplicity's sake I'll
assume they were here all alone...
20 May 1015. Within 2min of getting up on the hill to watch I saw a
bird enter a hole way up in the main sycamore. I think he
was without food and that they are still incubating.
1900. Opened the hole: 4 eggs (couldn't see if they were
incubated or not!).
4 June Checked the nest (1200): 3 babies ~7 do.
8 June After several misses I caught the ♀ on the nest with
a tennis ball. She is now ♀1097.
20 June Banded the 3 babies as #1106-1108.
16 October 745. Out here watching with Katy. Four birds were here briefly, all
in the Westgate tree (one flew in from Gate); I assume they are
the Gate birds.
757. (1)♂ LP/DB #627; (2)♀ Red-Wm(w)/Red-Wm(w) #1097 in the
Westgate tree. They are indeed the Gate birds.
800. (3)♀ Blk-Red/M #1107. Birds are busy storing in the
Westgate tree.
820. (4)♂ DB-or/or?: #1106. (5)♀ DB/LP ?? Don't know who
this one is; I don't think it was ♀1097.
830. ♀LB/m #1108 Seen well (?) left right away.
That appears to be it. They're all here.
