10 November 1640-1650. Cleaned out the telephone pole hole,
which is of course filled up completely. (My plan
is now to do this 2 dys in a row once a week or so
just to see how many they can store through the
season in one day). Today's count:
Valley Oak: 159½ }
Live Oak: 143 } 333½ Weight: 1.77 kg
Blue Oak: 31 )
Current total: 2148½ in 20 days = 107 per day.
12 November 645. Emptied the hole (which isn't very full yet)
essentially 1 day since 10 Nov. PM:
Valley Oak: 10 }
Live Oak: 43 } 61 Weight = 0.31 kg.
Blue Oak: 8 )
13 November 710. Now we're rolling again: the hole was completely
filled! Valley Oak: 87½ }
Live Oak: 210 } 322½ Weight: 1.81 kg.
Blue Oak: 25 )
14 November I went up and checked but did not empty the hole
today - it was not full.
1600. Counted stores: Main tree: 1300 }
2° tree 157 } 1657
Tel pole: ~200 )

storage areas, as well as having crammed the telephone
pole with thousands of acorns (over 2500 to be exact).
21 November 1645. Emptied the hole just before dusk. This time
