(My plan is now to do this 2 dys in a row once a week or so just to see how many they can store through the season in one day). Today's count: Valley Oak: 159½ } Live Oak: 143 } 333½ Weight: 1.77 kg Blue Oak: 31 ) Current total: 2148½ in 20 days = 107 per day. 12 November 645. Emptied the hole (which isn't very full yet) essentially 1 day since 10 Nov. PM: Valley Oak: 10 } Live Oak: 43 } 61 Weight = 0.31 kg. Blue Oak: 8 ) 13 November 710. Now we're rolling again: the hole was completely filled! Valley Oak: 87½ } Live Oak: 210 } 322½ Weight: 1.81 kg. Blue Oak: 25 ) 14 November I went up and checked but did not empty the hole today - it was not full. 1600. Counted stores: Main tree: 1300 } 2° tree 157 } 1657 Tel pole: ~200 ) Thus they've added several hundred acorns to the 1° storage areas, as well as having crammed the telephone pole with thousands of acorns (over 2500 to be exact). 21 November 1645.
