1984 Walter D. Koenig Melanerpes formicivorus Corral Viejo 20 March 1045. There is a bird flycatching in the main granary at CV#2, presumably indicative of incipient reoccupation here. It's a ♂, and he appears to have some problem with his right leg such that he can't extend his digits (I suppose this means his probably banded!) → ♂ 322/422 1100. There are 2 ♂s here. 1 is [illegible], the other ♂ Bad leg. The 1st could be 3843; I'm not sure who the other could be. 1115. ♂ #1 looks like ♂ 322/422 - #843 definitely likely. Still not sure who the 2nd ♂ could be. 1130. A ♀ here also! Looks unbanded. 1145. My guess for ♂#2 is ♂ Bad leg #813, but I still haven't seen its other band very well. 2 April 910. There is at least 1 bird eating some acorns over at Dark Hollow. (I'm not sure anyone's seen birds there previously.) 3 April 930. Here at Blom3 something is clearly going on - There are several birds here and some rucous a bit earlier. 20 September See Blountwo/Blounthree notes for what may be EVGrande's fall nest. 1600. Some birds near CV#1 and several at CV#2, but no sign of nests, or much storing as yet. 1610. No sign of much activity at OK Corral or at Dk Hollow. 27 October At CV#2: I saw j960 - still ♂ type - with the PRBO class.
