Melanerpes famicivorus
Gazebo HNHR
(15 May)
1750. Well I'll be buggered. The 2nd♂ is ♂M/♀B/Bik-Wat#718 - the one who's supposed to be here. So what is the other ♂ doing here???
1800. These birds are together. Obviously it's time to check out the history of 718 vis-a-vis CVGrande. Leaving
Well: 718 in fact has close ties with CVGrande. He was banded at Blomtwo in '82, but then "returned" to CVGrande in fall '82, moving to Gazebo in spring '83, Returning to CVGrande in fall '83, and finally back to Gazebo in spring '84. Now, 8942 is an '84 baby from CVGrande, so it just goes to show that he apparently still has ties back there - in fact, this is indeed an interesting case.
**So: Add 8942: apparently seen at CVGrande on 13 April, he is now at Gazebo → Moved 28 April #2weeks. Actually, I noted 3 birds here on 2 May → hence, Moved 22 April ±1 week.
30 May
1730. Checked the nest: 5 babies, 1 starving. I'd guess ~6 to.
16 June
1500. Banded the 2 babies left #1103-1104.
21 August Stanback reports that "some acorns" remain here.
