7 April Today I finally get the news that the 86 here are not
fathers of 787 and thus she is not a "regular" helper
(at best) and is a potential breeder (at worst). Hence we
clearly can't use her as an indication of the movements
of helpers!
15 April Missy saw lots of activity at The hole here hier, so I checked
it at 630: 1 ruint egg!
645. Watching.
830. 9193 at hole but didn't enter.
920. 9193 again, but still wouldn't enter.
929. Did it! Tossed by 9193! (Did not drop it - flew out of
the hole with it).
16 April Philip watched here this morning. 9193 was in early for
~45 min, and 785 was in later for ~15 min. By the
time I came by - 730'ish, there were 2 eggs - thus both
♀♀ laid. One egg was distinctly smaller than the other,
but not obviously a runt; I marked both. Philip contin-
ued to watch but left at 950 after both 9193 and 785
had entered several times and 787 once without
tossing. Nobody watched until Philip returned at ~1530
when only 1 egg - the larger one - remained.
So it's still something of a mystery here, but at least
2 of the ♀♀ are laying. My guess is that 787 tossed
the egg, and may very well toss the second by the time
we check it early tomorrow, but we'll see!
17 April 1030. Watching. So far today: (1) the larger of the 2 eggs laid
yesterday was still in the hole (2) 9193 laid an egg early once
