1985 Walter D Koenig Melanerpes formicivorus Moonshine Ranch HNHR 25 May The beginning of a new "era" as Stanback found the nest here. Unfortunately, as I climbed up apparently 1 of the babies flew out - but there were still 6 others in the hole!! (Mark has seen ≥ 5 girls here - none banded so far). Hence, they probably had 7 babies here (it's possible the escapee was an adult, but the vote is that it was a baby.) We banded them as #1048-1053. # Weight WL 1048 68.2 (108) 4 1049 74.2 (113) 1 1050 73.2 (113) 2 1051 65.2 (84) 6 1052 76.5 (106) 5 1053 77.8 (112) 3 D.
