In essence, the render it impossible to do a decent count here, but there's no doubt that there are several hundred more acorns in the tree than can be counted from the ground. 500 is a guess; it's probably an underestimate but I doubt it's wildly conservative. 1983 11 February 1700. Counted stores: Blue Oak: 223 Valley Oak: 192 } 615 Other caches: ~200* *There don't seem to be nearly as many acorns stuck in strange places up here now. 200 is probably a fair guess.
