Ruddy Turnstone Predation writing on Sooty Terns 10 Jan 69 Janet F. Roughly 1800 one Ruddy Turn. was noted walking the edge of colony, most 57 birds gave evidence of attempted pecks, but none really attacked the turnstone. Terns pushed very close together (as close as 1 ft apart). The turnstone ventured as far into the mixed birds as perhaps 10 ft, quickly side- stepping all terns & again returning to the clear area at the edge of the colony. Within 15 minutes 4 more
