Pine Peaks, Vol., Conchaigua, Dept, LaUnion Feb, 26, 1926 - March-7, 1926 Sigmodon - Palon de Zacate This species was found in the Sonoran grass land in this locality. Nos. 11195 and 11198 were taken in low dense dry grass or one of the [illegible] points. Trails that appeared to be well used were found frequently under the grass, however at this time of the year the wind hits these higher and unprotected points so [illegible] my traps set in the suns failed to catch as many as I had figured they would. Nos. 11200, 11268, and 11267 were caught on the south slope of the volcano where there were many large lava rock boulders, dense low brush and [illegible], a small amount of grass. These three specimens were caught in traps set under large lava rocks. Nos. 11211 and 11249 were trapped in an old grass hut at the edge of the tall pine grove. There was some lumber piled in the hut and the traps were set under it. The others were taken in a small [illegible] brushy grass patch at the edge of the pines and coffee.
