Pine Peaks, Vol. Conchaqua, Dept., Hualion Feb, 26, 1926 - March - 7, 1926 Sciurus Variegated Squirrel; Gray-tailed Squirrel - Hardia. Variegated Squirrels were not uncommon in the Pine Peaks and in the sub-tropical zone of Vol. Conchaqua. During the early morning or late afternoon one could usually be seen hissing along a chorizontal limb or jumping from one tree to another. No. 11210 was shot in the subtropical on the north mountain slope. No. 11229 was shot in the pine grove while eating a pine cone.
