Urocyon
- Gato del Monte; Gato Causal
An adult male specimen of
this species was shot by me one
night while following a cow trail
through some dwarf like Jicaro trees.
Its eyes flashed greenish some
distance ahead of me. And when
I passed quickly and lightly
ahead the fox came toward
me. The next minute I was
within range and shot and
killed him. Some natives seemed
to think that this Gato del Monte
caught and killed their chickens.
