Blue-tailed Rat:-
Raton
This rat trapped in other localities chiefly under rocks and logs was found positively scansorial by me in this locality. They were caught primarily in tangled second growth in vines and of horizontal limbs. However some were taken in low trees and brush in dense and heavy jungle. No. 10927 was shot with a shot pistol one night as it was running along a low and small horizontal limb beside the canita trail which led through the heavy jungle. It was due to the reflection of this specimen's eyes that I noticed it first. Many like specimens were ruined by ants especially if the traps were set among dead vines or dead twigs and limbs. The stomach contents varied from seed pulps to green plant and green leaf pulps.
