Puerto del Triunfo, Dept., Usulutan Dec., 28, 1925 - Jan., 25, 1926 Metachirops - Junón This was an abundant species at Puerto del Triunfo. They were found in the heavy dense jungle, in natives' houses, in tangled vines and in second growth. Frequently I was able to approach close enough to them with my hunting lamp at night to shoot them with my shot pistol. Sometimes they would crawl up in trees when they saw the light at times high and again low on some low limb where they would cling closely to the branch never taking their eyes away from the light. One night as I was walking slowly along a trail through the dense jungle I saw some little red eyes flash in the brush to my right. I stood perfectly still and waited, soon a junón came through the brush and stopped at the edge of the trail and sat up on this hind legs with his tail braced out behind. His little flesh colored nose twitched nervously as he faced the bright light. Not satisfied he dropped down on all fours and came toward me quite cautiously until his nose nearly touched the toe of my boot. Suddenly he seemed to realize that all might not be well for him where he was so he quickly ran into the brush on the opposite side of the trail and
