Puerto del Triunfo Dept., Usulutan. Dec, 28, 1925 - Jan, 25, 1926 Nasua - Picote This species, the darker form, was found commonly at Picoto del Triunfo. The natives reported that they were found commonly along the upper tide flats where they fed on crabs. I met with them twice on a carreta trail which led through the dense jungle. The first was solitary [illegible] and it crossed the trail about one hundred yards ahead of me and disappeared in the jungle before I could get a shot at it. The second time was approximately 5 P.M. when I met with a band of seven or eight. They crossed the trail some distance ahead of me, however the jungle was so dense I failed to get a shot at them although I followed them for nearly ten minutes. At times I thought I heard individuals stop and root among the dry leaves only to hurry on an instant or two later. No. 10919 a female was shot in the muddy upper tide flats by a native. she was very poor. No. 10432 was shot in a small jungle trail in a group of several by a native. No. 11035 was brought to me by a native boy who said that he killed it in the jungle. Stomachs examined contained crabs, and insects.
