March 10, 1927
We left Camp Los Comas miles for
our lower Camp which is in
the pine & scrub oaks. We
arrived at San Jose del Bacare at
about 4:30 in the afternoon
March 11, 1927
I went and set some traps
but never found anything that
looked very prosperous. I saw
no signs of big mammals
any where
March 12, 1927
look at trap got nothing. Van Roem
shot his .32-20 in a large pine
about one mile west of Camp
along toward evening I took my
gun and went to where I had
seen a squirrel nest the day before.
I sat down on a rock in a small
ditch near nest and waited. Had
been their only a short time when
I saw some branches in a small
fruit tree bending thought it was
birds at first but after while I
saw my squirrel out on end of limb.
