1927 La Libertad, Dept, La Libertad, Salvador June 26, 1927- I was invited to join a deer hunt which was to take place twelve kilometers inland from the port of La Libertad. We reached the hacienda [illegible] early and found that one of the men had been hunting the night before and had shot a doe. He was kind enough to give me the skull No. 12991. The hacienda house is on the road that leads from La Libertad to San Salvador. From there we went out over the rough and rugged terrain to the east. I saw many signs of deer and some signs of peccari. There are few native suits in the region and the place is undoubtably alive with animal life. One of the boys shot a monkey far down in the jungle. I didn't see it. From the description he gave me I assume that it was Ateles. June 27, 1927- San Salvador
