2007 Walter D Koening Melanerpes formicivorus Lane HNAK 8 June 900. This group, which is located right on The lane at about 1300 (tree 4719), has 3 birds based on a roost watch a couple weeks ago when 1 bird roosted in a hole in The 4719 Valley oak and 2 in The next valley oak down. The latter hole in low and pretty marginal, but The high hole in the 4719 looks good and sometimes has a bird in it, so today I climbed it. The hole is empty and needs a bit more work, but could still be used. There is a storage limb up in tree 4719 also, but it appears to be empty.
