2006 2007 2008 2009 Walt D Koernig Melanerpes formicivorus Blandpard (BLP) HNHR 2 May 1000. Still a few stores here. (but not much!) Checked hole #909 - 2 starling nestlings. Cleaned out the nest. 18 June 1330. Banded & bled The 2 kids here. Stores? Pretty much out, I think. Actually, I see a very few in the Valley Oak, but They're definitely close to being out. 2007 20 May 1000. Banded & bled the Single kid. Stores? Oh yes. 13 July STILL stores here. Banded & bled The 3 kids. 2008 28 April Opened the new hole high in the dead, fallen limb (Hole faces Oak Ridge & is ~26' high - no more). Hole is deep but empty. Also cleared out the starling nest (4 eggs) from the Artificial cavity a few feet away from the new hole. 6 May 1108. Hole now has 3 fresh eggs: ① 24.6×17.6 ② 24.7×19.7 ③ 25.2×18.5. Hole needs a tag! 10 May 1030. 4 eggs, the 3 +④ 25.5×20.1. Hole now tagged #8608. 7 June Banded The 3 kids. Plenty of stores here. 2009 1 April There are only a very few acorns left here, best I can tell.
