2005 2006 2007 Walter D Koenig Melanerpes fomicivorus Plague HWNK 10 May 1000. Finally found the nest. It's in the tree over by the upper barn, but in a new hole much higher than the prior old holes. They have 4 fresh eggs. I measured 1: 27.5 x 19.8. I also tagged the hole (although it's in one of those thin dead limbs that's unlikely to last long) #913. 20 May 830. Checked the nest: 5 eggs, not hatched yet. LED = 11 May; should hatch 22 May. 23 May 1400. 4 kids + 1 unhatched egg. ~2 da. 10 June 1230. Banded & bled the 4 kids. Stores? You bet. 25 July 800.
