2005 2006 2007 Walter D Koemig Melanerpes formicivorus Branca Norte HNHR 15Apr7 1500. Bird in new hole, lower & in a new limb but the same tree. Now tagged #904. 7 eggs: ① 25.9 x 19.4 ② 26.2 x 19.2 ③ 26.8 x 19.1 ④ 25.7 x 18.9 ⑤ 28.6 x 19.1 ⑥ 25.7 x 18.9 ⑦ 24.9 x 19.4 Eggs incubated, EHD ~ 20 Apr7. Good number of stores here. 26Apr7 1030. Checked nest: 5 babies (no eggs), ~ 3-4 do. Band ~ 13 May. 11 May 1630. Banded & bled the 5 kids. Plenty of stores here. 6 Sept. A few new acorns here, but I think they must otherwise have run out of stores this summer. 2006 6 March 930. Bird in hole (?) Also: plenty of stores here. 12 May Plenty of stores still! 7 June And still stores, even though there's still no sign of a nest. 12 June 1607. Bird looking out of hole (one facing BKOK) - a baby!!?! Hole is #5811. 1630. 6 kids! Ready to go. Banded & bled them. That was close.... 2007 6 May 1100. Bird flushed from hole #5811 (treetag #326): 10 eggs, a nunt, pretty fresh! Stores? Yes - lots.
