2005 2006 2007 Walks D Koening Melanerpes formicivorus School Hill HWR 19 Apr 1730. Opened the old hole here (#276): empty but in good shape. No one in any holes, however. 19 May 1200. Bird in #276 here, finally: but it's still empty! 27 May 1645. Watched for an hour or so. Saw 3 birds Together, but no indication they have a nest. Who's the 3rd bird? 12 June 1300. Plenty of stores here. No one in The old resthole, even though it's where they've been roosting both times I've watched up here. Seems like they really do not have a nest. 5 July 1945. Bird in The hole: checked it: very nice shape but still empty. (hole #276). 2006 1 May 1000. Bird in The traditional hole. 2 May 1415. Checked hole (tag #276): 7 freshish eggs. ① 25.8 × 20.1 ② 24.2 × 20.4 ③ 26.0 × 20.4 ④ 25.0 × 20.1 ⑤ 25.0 × 20.1 ⑥ 24.7 × 20.8 ⑦ [likely infertile] 27.5 × 18.2. ETD ~ 12 May. Turns out this is SH Annex! No School Hill this year, I guess! 2007 24 Apr 1845. No one in the usual hole (#276) but I opened it anyway to find 1 egg! ① 25.5 × 20.1 Presumably this is still S. Hill Annex.
