2005 2006 Walter D Koewing Melanerpes formicivorus Road 1 HNHR (26 March) I'm also going to wipe the putative fall nest from the AWHATCH & AWREPRO files. It could, of course, have existed, but with only the one brief observation, it seems better to assure we didn't miss one after all, and that the NOBA fledgling the FAs saw was from somewhere else. 21 April 1630. Bird in (old) hole (tag #297): 5 inc. eggs. ① 25.9 × 19.4 ② 25.6 × 19.4 ③ 25.2 × 18.8 ④ 25.5 × 19.3 ⑤ 25.2 × 18.9. EHD ~ 26 Apr 7. 29 April 1115. Checked hole: 5 babies, 1-2 da. Band ~18 May. 12 May 1108. Here to catch the NOBA ♀ Lisa says is here. ②3441 is still here, so I guess it's that kid from last fall after all (?) that I discussed back in March. ② 8 yell/♀ #2543. 1240. Have to try again later. Nope! Got her! And she would seem to indeed be a 2Y Grid! Remeplate that fall nest, I guess! 16 May 1700. Banded & bled the 4 kids, plus took blood for SI (Matched w/ The 2Y bird caught on 12 May). 18 Sept. A few new, green acorns stored here but otherwise I think they must have run out this summer. 2006 23 May There are birds here, but stores are out best I can tell. 21 June Looks like hole 297, in which 25 birds were roosting last week, may be in the process of being taken over by Honey Bees!
